OUR MISSION IS TO

LIVE LIKE JESUS

As we spend time with Him we are transformed by His amazing grace. Jesus showed us the way to live as children fully surrendered to God in humility and love. We are committed to helping you grow in that process. The world cannot stay the same if the Church begins to love, think, pray, give, and Live Like Jesus.

CORE

VALUES

  • We believe the presence of God changes lives. He is always with us! In His presence we find joy and abundant life. As we gather, we make space for the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do. (Ps 16:11; John 14:23-26; Gal 5:16-23)

  • We believe we were created to worship our Creator. Coming together to worship Jesus is one of the most important things we do. Corporate worship stirs fresh passion, releases transformation and unites us as the family of God. (Ps 95:1-6; Ps 33; Heb 13:15)

  • We believe prayer brings heaven to earth. We believe the Church is called to be a House of Prayer, and that a praying church is a powerful church. Every believer is also called to pursue an intimate relationship with God through personal prayer. (Is 56:7; Matt 18:19-20; Col 4:2)

  • We believe the church is designed to be a family of connected believers following Jesus. As a community, we share in one other’s burdens and victories. We pray for one another and walk in unity as the body of Christ. (Rom 12:5; John 15:12; 1 Cor 1:10)

  • We believe God delights in the generations. Every believer is called to train up and demonstrate the life and character of Christ to the next generation. We love seeing God move at Zion in our children, teens, young adults, and adults. (Ps 145:4; Ps 78:4; Joel 2:28)

  • We believe it is the responsibility of the Church to help the believer grow. Following and growing in Jesus is a beautiful, lifelong process. It is our joy to encourage and equip you to Live Like Jesus. (Eph 4:11-16; Heb 6:1-3; Ps 92:12-14)

  • I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him, all things were made. For us men and our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

  • I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. On the third day, he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

WE BELIEVE

We hold to the historic teachings of Christian orthodoxy as articulated in the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed.

Some Common Questions:

  • We believe Scripture is inspired by God’s Spirit through human authors and constitutes the revelation of God’s truth to humanity. It is wholly true and trustworthy in all that it affirms. Whatever the Bible, rightly interpreted, is found to teach, we are bound to believe and obey. It is our supreme authority in every matter of belief and conduct. (2 Tim 3:16; 1 Cor 2:13).

  • We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience after salvation and a distinct aspect of the Christian foundational knowledge (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; Acts 10:44-47; 19:6).

We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in I Cor 12-14, as manifested in the Early Church.

  • We believe God’s original design for humans was to never have intimate sexual activity outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. (Gen 2:24; Gen 26:8-9; Lev 18:1-30; Rom 1:26-29; 1 Cor 5:1; 6:9; I Thess 4:1-8; Heb 13:4)

We believe the only authentic marriage is joining one man and one woman. (Gen 2:24; Rom 7:2; I Cor 7:10; Eph 5:22-23)

We believe in the sovereign design of two genders, divinely assigned to individuals in the womb. (Gen 1:27; Matt 19:4; Ps 139:13-18)

  • We believe the Scripture describes a new Christian as a spiritual baby. Believers are called to grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. This growing process is called sanctification. Sanctification is a present reality as well as an ongoing process. The first is the result of the finished work of Christ, and the latter is the result of the work of the indwelling Spirit. The fullest meaning of sanctification is that Jesus Christ is made unto us sanctification. That is, He creates in us what He is Himself. Our mission statement, Live Like Jesus, is rooted in this reality. We believe Jesus Christ is returning for a Bride in the image of her Bridegroom. The primary work of the Holy Spirit is to prepare and equip the Bride to meet her Bridegroom. (He. 10:10, I Co. 1:30, I Th. 4:3-4, I Pe. 1:2, I Th. 5:23, Ep. 5:26, Jo. 17:17, He. 13:12, Re. 21:2)

  • We believe abortion is a grievous sin. We believe that a child in the womb is a life given by God, and it is to be protected (Psalm 139:13, Psalm 22:10, Luke 1:4, Gen 25:22). Accordingly, we believe abortion is one of the greatest sins of our time.

  • We believe in women as active church ministry participants in preaching, teaching, and leading. We hold to the orthodox view of letting scripture interpret scripture. While some verses have confused this area, we look to the more significant body of evidence in scripture that points to the affirmative of women’s involvement in the ministry. From the Old Testament to the new, numerous women are advancing the Kingdom of God through leadership roles. We see that men and women have different but complementary and equally important roles in a general sense. When it comes to marriage, for example, God plans that a man is the head of the home.

    (1 Cor 1:11, Colossians 4:15, Phil 1:2, Rom 16:1-15, Eph 5:21-33)
